NAB Internal media release March 2008.

Based in Alphington, Melbourne, Veggie Head, was the first of the NAB Microenterprise Loans from the new Incubator Connect Program.

Headed up by Jai Cheswick, gardener and landscape consultant, Veggie Head offers a complete range of eco-garden services to local homes including gardening and design of veggie patches or native gardens.

“We carry out our business on boundary-pushing tricyles, soul-satisfying alternatives to automobiles and we firmly believe that small local changes in behaviour can benefit the environment,” said Jai.

Incubator Connect program provides NAB Microenterprise Loans to businesses that are currently tenanted or supported by a small business incubator. Incubators assist small businesses to grow by providing an environment where business ventures share space with like-minded small business operators who are in similar development phases.

Glen Brennan, Manager Community Finance & Development, said Jai was a perfect candidate for the NAB Microenterprise Loan from the new Incubator Connect Program.

“Jai approached NAB via Darebin Small Business Incubator with a solid business idea having previously consulted for The Garden Gurus TV show on Channel Nine. All he needed was some funding to start up the business and promote the innovative services it offers,” said Glen.
The Veggie Head business is going strong aiming to have three tricycles servicing the local area within the next six months.
